Not So Famous…

Beer Magazine was kind enough to highlight the Scotch Ale style in their magazine in Issue #10.  It is the least I can do to endeavor to try each and every one.

I’m not going to be successful, I don’t think.  I hate to be a wet blanket, here, but many of these beers are only available in a couple counties near the brewery, and it’s not likely I’ll ever be in those counties.  In addition, breweries go under, and new ones spring up.  It’s an ambitious list, but it’s a list.  And if I have a list, I have something to work for.  :)

(A note about some of the names on here.  the “/-” notation is an old notation for the shilling rating of a Scotch Ale.  There is a lot of argument as to what it referred to, but suffice it to say, the higher the shilling rating (such as 80/-), the more malt was used to make the beer, and the higher the alcohol amount.)
