Working on the weekend. :(
Occasionally, in IT, you have to do something that you find morally reprehensible. Namely, you have to work…on the weekend.
This weekend has been a couple things to me. On the one hand, I got my database that I’ve been working on for months in production. It’s working well, and the data migration from the old database to the new one was relatively painless. (SURPRISINGLY painless.) On the other hand, I had to work Friday night from about 2:45 to about Midnight, Saturday from 8am to 5pm, and Sunday from 9am to about 2pm. I hate working Sundays, and I avoid it whenever I can. Sometimes, however, you can’t avoid it in IT. Server work, database work, a lot of the stuff I do has to be done when no one is on the system.
Hopefully, however, I won’t need to do this again for a long time. :)
Yeah i work 6 days a week, i understand how much that sucks.
I need my Sunday, without that i would not be happy!
