Please pray for Alistair Begg…
I have not been reading Reformation21’s blog of late, since the RSS feed broke some time back. Tonight, before I did a spot of work that I forgot about, and which really does need to be done before tomorrow morning, (an act of necessity, my literal Sabbath readers), I checked their blog and was dismayed to find this post. Alistair Begg has been diagnosed with prostate cancer, and asks for everyone’s prayers. You can see his letter to Truth for Life listeners here. (link opens in new window)
For those who don’t know, Alistair Begg is a preacher from Parkside Church in Cleveland, Ohio. He graduated from Westminster Theological Seminary, and preaches on a daily radio show called Truth For Life. I subscribed to their podcast months ago and have been treated to some great teaching in the great Reformed tradition.
Originally from Scotland, Alistair’s voice is a treat to listen to, and the Truth he preaches is directly from the Bible. For those who have never heard him preach, as he would say, “your attention would be greatly rewarded”, as his voice is carried at 7:30am on weekdays on 99.9 FM, KCIV, and you’ll not find better preaching on that station. He would be disappointed in my mentioning his voice, as he has said on many occasions that the skill or quirks of the various preachers are not important; what is important is that he preaches the Word of God only. Alistair does that, but I must say, it was his voice that caught my attention long before I knew what the Reformers were “on about”.
