Well, this weekend was fun, as I thought it would be. :)

Though it was quite busy, and kept us away from the house quite a bit, it was definitely fun.

I talked about the Beer Fest and its disappointments already.  Of note is the fact that the company that did the beer fest’s website is down.  :)  Apparently some others are angry as well.  :)

This Sunday was awesome in that the whole church was very welcoming…more than I thought they would be.  While I never thought that our church would be cold to us, I often wonder what they think of me.  Not that I care a lot, in that I won’t change my loud personality to adapt to what others think I should be, but they were very welcoming to Kim and I.

It’s always interesting to look around when I laugh to see who, if anyone, is looking at me disapprovingly.  While I’ve been told by a dear friend that my laugh is contagious, there are often “quiet” people who are somehow affected or offended by my laugh.  There are some of these people at this church.  However, they’ve been very accepting of my laughing, and humor in general.  It’s been very cool.

Tonight was an excellent lecture on the history of Christianity in the U.K., and more specifically, Great Britain.  We talked about Succat, who Greg Hodson said was one of the main forerunners of the Faith in Britain.  Bonus points if you know who he is.  ;)  (Good luck.  Most people don’t know Patrick’s original name.  Many of you might know him even better by St. Patrick, though the honorrific is not entirely correct.)

After the lecture, we got to talk to very cool people, as always, but we thoroughly enjoyed talking (and laughing) with Jenna.  :)

In all, it was a nice weekend.  Tomorrow will be cool.  Dinner at the in-laws with the Eagles playing.  :)

Hope all of your weekends went well.

Saturday was fun even though the BeerFest was kind of a bust…

We went to the beer fest expecting to drink all kinds of different beers, and we drank a few.  The problem is, many of the brewers that said they would be there never showed.  This meant that there was a lot less beer for a lot more people per brewer.  Sierra Nevada Brewing Company ran out of beer at 2:30 pm, with 2 and a half hours to go yet.  All the other brewers ran out of beer around 3 or 3:30.  The event was supposed to go until 5, but everyone was leaving before that.

However, we ended up back at Kim and my place, drank a couple more beers and watched Lord of War, which was a very good, and thought-provoking movie.  It was very cool to meet Julie’s friend Heather, though.  She loves Anime, which is an interesting thing to notice in a woman.  :-D  She also likes Japanese music, which I also found interesting.  Also, she laughed at my jokes, which is how I can tell when someone is cool.  ;)

Today is Sunday, and it’s a much bigger day than yesterday.  We get to go up in front of the church and get accepted into communicant membership in our church.  We then have the major potluck of the Fellowship Luncheon afterwards.  (I don’t think we’re going to make our chips again.  Sorry, Jenna.  :)  Maybe next time.)  :)  Then we have a couple errands to run in going to see some family members.  Then we’ll end up back at church.  :)  Never been this busy on a SUnday in my whole life.  ;)
