Well, this weekend was fun, as I thought it would be. :)
Though it was quite busy, and kept us away from the house quite a bit, it was definitely fun.
I talked about the Beer Fest and its disappointments already. Of note is the fact that the company that did the beer fest’s website is down. :) Apparently some others are angry as well. :)
This Sunday was awesome in that the whole church was very welcoming…more than I thought they would be. While I never thought that our church would be cold to us, I often wonder what they think of me. Not that I care a lot, in that I won’t change my loud personality to adapt to what others think I should be, but they were very welcoming to Kim and I.
It’s always interesting to look around when I laugh to see who, if anyone, is looking at me disapprovingly. While I’ve been told by a dear friend that my laugh is contagious, there are often “quiet” people who are somehow affected or offended by my laugh. There are some of these people at this church. However, they’ve been very accepting of my laughing, and humor in general. It’s been very cool.
Tonight was an excellent lecture on the history of Christianity in the U.K., and more specifically, Great Britain. We talked about Succat, who Greg Hodson said was one of the main forerunners of the Faith in Britain. Bonus points if you know who he is. ;) (Good luck. Most people don’t know Patrick’s original name. Many of you might know him even better by St. Patrick, though the honorrific is not entirely correct.)
After the lecture, we got to talk to very cool people, as always, but we thoroughly enjoyed talking (and laughing) with Jenna. :)
In all, it was a nice weekend. Tomorrow will be cool. Dinner at the in-laws with the Eagles playing. :)
Hope all of your weekends went well.
