This weekend promises to be enjoyable…
Here’s what I’ve got on tap (no pun intended):
1. Boss’ birthday on Friday, and I hear we’re going to a cigar bar. (Referred to as a “Lodge Meeting”.) Should be nice to have a beer with these pretty darn cool guys.
2. Saturday is the Fair Oakstoberfest in Fair Oaks up by Sacramento. It’s a wonderful gathering of microbreweries. All you can taste for $20 is not a bad deal at all. Going with a couple friends, and we should have a great time.
3. Sunday, of course, is the greatest day with my wife and I along with our friend being inducted into communicant membership of our church! After that, we’ll have the monthly Fellowship Luncheon with the church. I’ll get to go see my grandmother for a little while. Then it’s back to church for the evening service where we’ll begin our annual Reformation Series. This year, it’s the Reformation in England.ÂÂ
In all, I’m looking forward to it. Sunday is going to be awesome with being inducted into membership, the fellowship luncheon, and then the reformation series in the evening. If you want to download mp3’s of past Reformation Series’, go to http://www.graceopcmodesto.org. 2005 was the Reformation in Scotland. I was unable to attend in October of last year, but I’ve downloaded them and will listen to them this week. :)
I should have several reviews of beers from this weekend posted next week. Keep your eyes peeled.

I’m so thrilled you and Kim are becoming members!!!! I’m looking forward to Sunday, too. ^_^
You definitely should listen to the mp3’s of last year’s Reformation series. It was truly excellent. Pastor Dave brings such an enthusiasm to anything he does, and all the lectures were inspiring, convicting, and encouraging.
I second what Jenna said–I’m very excited for you, too! Congratulations in advance!!! I can’t wait for Sunday! :D
And yes, you most certainly should listen to those. They were wonderful… I love Pastor Dave’s lecture style: its so engrossing and he really has a gift for bringing history to life! I’m very excited about this year’s lectures as well–especially since we’ll be taking video as well as audio so online viewers will be able to see the PowerPoint presentations.
