Today is my Friday…yay for that!

This has been an interesting week.  There’s a lot been going on in my head that I probably shouldn’t put out on the Internet for all the world to see.  It started with me being sick, as I said before.  Being sick is nothing new for me, but this was a rough one, because this week was rough as well.  I’ve not been in the best of moods, so I probably over-reacted to things that happened, but some of it turned out all right.  I’m really making a mess of things, aren’t I? Basically, all’s well that ends well, and I think this week is ending pretty well.

I’m taking tomorrow off, ostensibly for skiing, but it’s shaping up to be a pretty white Friday, as Fridays go. Lots of snow in the air and on the road, and that makes for a pretty miserable skiing trip, what with chains, goggles and no visibility.  So Kim and I will likely not be going skiing after all.  I’m still taking the vacation day, however…I have some things around the house I want to get done, and I’d like a day off work to rest and enjoy my weekend.  This cold I had is still lingering on, and I’d like to kill it.  Killing it means relatively stressless days, and that’s what I plan on having this weekend.  :)

Of course, I just got a new toy, so that may raise the stress levels of my weekend significantly.  Lately, getting a new toy has been more stress than it used to be.  From blowing up speakers to having power supplies poop out on me, my hobbies have been less therapeutic than once they were.  What is this new toy, you ask?  Well, I’ll tell you.

For quite some time, my friends have been making fun of my TV.  It works, mind you, and the picture is not bad.  It takes a little bit to warm up, and its exterior design is somewhat…dated.  You see, this is a hand-me-down TV.  My stepfather gave me his old TV when he got a new one, and I very much appreciate it.  My prior TV had blown speakers, and the remote was absolutely horrid.  However, I must mention that this TV was purchased in the 1970’s.  Now, that does not mean it is not a good TV…on the contrary!  This TV was more than stellar for its time.  Right now I have a PS2, XBox, VCR, and Computer hooked up to it, and it has performed its job quite well.  I’ve never seen a better computer picture on a TV, and that’s saying quite a bit.  (TV’s were never designed to display as high a resolution as a computer monitor, which explains the high prices of computer monitors vs. TV’s.)  I must tell you also that this TV actually says, “Television/Monitor” on it, so it was designed to be more than a TV.  It was designed with the types of things I have hooked up to it in mind!

That being said, it’s past its prime.  I desire a better picture using my computer.  I actually would like to be able to play video games and surf the internet on my television, since I have a computer hooked up to it.  I would like to be able to have a better picture with DVD’s and such.  So for Christmas, I asked my grandmother for a TV.  And she agreed.  (All jokes about me being spoiled are old…I’ve heard them all…and yeah, I’m spoiled.)  :)  The TV arrived today, and I’m going to hook it up tonight……….assuming something doesn’t go wrong, and with the way things have been going, that’s kind of assuming a great deal.  So if you read this, and it’s Thursday night, say a little prayer for me, or even give me a call.  I might enjoy the company.  Oh, and if you see me on World of Warcraft tonight, then I’m probably in a very bad mood.  (It probably means that things are not going well, and I’m giving up.  And if I’m giving up…well, then they must REALLY be bad.)  :)  L8er!

I’m currently drinking: Nothing…it’s only 4:13, after all.  But I’m hoping to be drinking some Kilt Lifter tonight.  HEE HEE!!!
